Cath Hunter B.Soc.Science., M.A.(Hons), PG Dip.Clinical Psychology, Clinical Psychologist – NZ Registered FOUNDER & DIRECTOR OF GAINS PSYCHOLOGY & CONSULTING SERVICES Cath is a Clinical Psychologist who completed her training in 1995. She has received specialist training in the area of traumatic brain injury, including concussion injuries and neuropsychological assessment and intervention. She also has extensive experience with a range of common emotional health issues such as depression and anxiety conditons. Cath is a member of the New Zealand Psychology Society and the National Academy of Neuropsychologists. | Dr Stephanie Dillon Doctor of Clinical Psychology - NZ Registered DIRECTOR OF GAINS PSYCHOLOGY & CONSULTING SERVICES Ngati Kahungunu and Ngati Porou Steph began working for Gains in early 2010 as an Intern Psychologist. In addition to working at Gains, she has completed her PhD with Massey University. Prior to these endeavours, Steph was employed for ten years with youth at risk, adult offenders and their families. She has extensive experience working with individuals who display sexually inappropriate behaviour. Her other areas of interest are behavioural difficulties for young people, and working with individuals and families who have experienced abuse. Steph is a member of the New Zealand Psychological Society. Wolfgang Greve PG Dip.Clinical Psychology, Clinical Psychologist - NZ Registered Wolfgang has practised extensively in the field of clinical psychology for over 30 years. He has developed strong expertise in the area of neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation, and assessment and treatment of childhood related conditions such as autism and ADHD. The application of Biofeedback Methods (Heart Rate Variability Training and other modalities) for stress and anxiety related problems is a special interest of his. Wolfgang is a member of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists and the Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback. He has been a NZ Registered Psychologist since 1983. | Marie Young B.A., M.A.(Hons), PG Dip.Clinical Psychology, Clinical Psychologist - NZ Registered Marie is a Clinical Psychologist who is experienced in the field of elderly, neuropsychology and general mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. Marie works primarily with adults. She is a member of the New Zealand Psychological Society and was first registered in 1996. Marie is also a member of the Institute of Clinical Psychology. | Juanita Heath BA, PG Dip Soc Science, M Phil (with distinction), PG Dip Clinical Psychology Clinical Psychologist - NZ registered. Juanita is a Clinical Psychologist who has twenty years' experience working with individuals with health related conditions. She has special interest in the areas of neuropsychological assessment, brain injury, pain management and adjustment to illness and disability. She is a member of the NZ Psychological Society, the NZ College of Clinical Psychologists, the NZ Pain Society and the Australian Society for the Study of Brain Impairment. Juanita has been a registered psychologist since 1998. | Bhavna Nagar B.A.(Hons), M.A.(Clinical Psychology), Clinical Psychologist - NZ Registered Bhavna joined us from South Africa and has been a Clinical Psychologist since 2003. Bhavna has assisted in running an in-patient substance abuse unit and enjoys working with adults with adjustment difficulties, mood disorders, and pain management utilising various approaches including mindfulness. Bhavna is a member of the NZ Psychological Society and the Institute of Clinical Psychololgy. Klara Kiss M.Sc.(Clinical Psychology), Clinical Psychologist - NZ Registered Klara completed her training in the US and has been practising in New Zealand since 2002. She has assisted individuals and families struggling with a wide range of difficulties in varied outpatient settings. Klara's main interests include helping trauma survivors and adults who struggle with stress, adjustment reactions and problems, anxiety, and depression. She is a member of the New Zealand Psychological Society. Paul McOnie Bachelor of Applied Social Science (BASS) Psychotherapy Major. Therapist Paul is a member of ANZASW and a clinical member of the Australia New Zealand Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers. He has approximately 10 years experience in working with children, adolescents and adults with issues relating to trauma, abuse, anxiety, depression, parenting and behaviour. Paul's passion lies in working with people of all ages, toward overcoming life's barriers and reaching their full potential. | Sally McQuarrie BSc(Hons), Psychology, PGDip Psychosynthesis Counselling, NZAP (Prov) Sally completed her post graduate training in London and worked there as a therapist, supervisor and trainer, primarily in the field of abuse and trauma recovery. In NZ she has been senior lecturer and stream co-ordinator for the psychotherapy stream of the Bachelor of Applied Social Sciences degree at the Eastern Institute of Technology, also maintaining a private practice during that time. Sally works with a range of issues including grief, depresson and anxiety, trauma and relationship communication, and works to facilitate a compassionate understanding of ourselves that releases purpose and potential. | Wanda Douglas B.A., M.A.(Hons), Industrial-Organisational Psychologist - NZ Registered Wanda is an Industrial/Organisational Psychologist who has specialist training and experience in a number of areas including personnel selection and performance management, leadership and executive coaching/mentoring, and change management. Her previous employment as the Director of Psychology in the Royal New Zealand Air Force and as an HR Manager in a large corporate, has honed her ability to successfully work with individuals and organisations to maximise their effectiveness within the business environment. Wanda has been a registered psychologist since 1996. | Nicky Gaddum B.Sc., PG.Dip.Sci, M.Sc., PG Dip.Clinical Psychology, Clinical Psychologist - NZ Registered Nicky is a Clinical Psychologist who completed her training at the University of Otago. Nicky has a broad range of experience in the assessment and treatment of mental health and behavioural problems. She has special interests in neuropsychology, and in assessment and intervention with children with developmental disorders. Nicky is a member of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists. Nicky is currently on maternity leave but is back joining us in early 2012. Ursula Bruin Dip. Psychotherapy, MNZAC, DAPAANZ, Bachelor of Applied Science (BASS) (Psychotherapy), Therapist. Ursula has completed her degree in psychotherapy and has experience working in mental health services, particularly with adolescents and young adults, but also enjoys, and has experience of, working with adults. She has special interests in working with addictions and recovery from sexual abuse trauma. Ursula is a member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors and the Drug and Alcohol Practitioners’ Association Aotearoa New Zealand. Ursula works on a part-time basis for Gains at our Napier Office. Edmond Otis B.A., M.S., MFT, Therapist. A new resident of New Zealand, Edmond has 18 years' experience working with a broad range of clients and as a clinical supervisor. He specialises in brief, solution-oriented therapy. Before coming to New Zealand, Edmond was an award-winning senior lecturer at the University of California at Riverside. In addition to his clinical work (part-time) with Gains at our Napier Office, Edmond is currently a senior lecturer in Health and Sport Science at EIT. | Melissa Porritt B.Soc.Science., PG Dip.Sci., M.Sc.(Hons), PG.Dip.Clinical Psychology, Clinical Psychologist - NZ Registered, MNZCCP DIRECTOR OF GAINS PSYCHOLOGY & CONSULTING SERVICES - LOWER HUTT LTD Melissa is a Clinical Psychologist who completed her training at the University of Otago. She is experienced in working with survivors of sexual abuse and people who have experienced physical trauma as a result of accidents and assaults, etc, to address mental health issues, especially post-traumatic stress disorder. She has an interest in neuropsychology and general adult mental health (including that of older adults) - especially depression, anxiety and grief, and also adjustment difficulties in chronic illness along with cognitive impairments including those induced by dementia and stroke. Melissa is a member of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists (NZCCP) and heads up our Lower Hutt Office. | Brylee Lamb B.A.(Hons), M.Sc., PG Dip.Clinical Psychology, Clinical Psychologist – NZ Registered Brylee is a Clinical Psychologist who completed her training at Victoria University. She has a range of clinical interests, particularly neuropsychology, adolescent and young adult mental health and working with survivors of trauma. Brylee is a member of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists (NZCCP). She is based in our Lower Hutt office. Dr Sharlene Murdoch PhD - Clinical Forensic Psychology BSc (Hons), PGDipClinical Psychology, Clinical Psychologist - NZ Registered, MNZCCP Sharlene is a clinical psychologist who completed her training and post graduate studies at Victoria University of Wellington. Sharlene has broad range of experience in the assessment and treatment of adult psychological and behavioural difficulties, inclusive of trauma, anxiety, depression and relationship difficulties. She also has particular interest and experience in the assessment of developmental, learning and behavioural difficulties of children and adolescents. | | Our service is supported by a strong administrative support team who ensure front and back office systems work smoothly. | Leeanne Fowler Leeanne has been employed as a financial administrator for Gains Psychology since early 2005. Prior to working at Gains, she has worked in administration at a special needs school and has been employed in debt recovery with the IRD. Leeanne works predominantly in the finance section of Gains business - invoicing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. | Lyn Harding Lyn has been associated with Gains Psychology since its establishment, and prior to that had worked part time for one of the Directors for approximately five years. She is responsible for overseeing administrative and booking systems for the greater Napier area, and coordinating our Gisborne clinics. Lyn has had many years experience with administrative and secretarial duties. She enjoys client contact and strives to support your initial contacts with Gains Psychology in a helpful and sensitive manner. Barbara Griffin Barbara is a part-time member of our busy administration team, working up to four days a week. She has previously worked extensively in management roles involving finance, personnel, administration and technology, and is committed to providing the best possible service, not only to our clients but also to all Gains personnel. |
